Korean vs Indian skincare routine: which suits you?
- Korean routines focus on layers of hydration and a dewy, "glass skin" look.
- Indian routines lean on traditional ingredients like kumkumadi, saffron and rose, plus targeted actives.
- You don't have to pick one. A 4-step mix works for most people.
The Korean way
Korean skincare is famous for many steps: oil cleanser, foam cleanser, toner, essence, serum, moisturiser and sunscreen. The idea is gentle care and lots of hydration. It works beautifully, but most people don't have time for 7 steps twice a day.
The Indian way
Indian routines grew from ayurvedic ingredients: ubtan, kumkumadi oil, rose water, saffron. Today, Indian brands also make affordable actives like niacinamide and vitamin C made for our climate. The focus is often on tanning, pigmentation and oil control.
A simple routine that mixes both
Night: cleanser → your treatment serum (niacinamide, retinol) → moisturiser or sleeping mask
Once a week: a face oil like kumkumadi or a mask
